The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) will host its first ever on-line course when the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) Caribbean Coaching Certification Programme (CCCP) launches today (Monday 27th April).

The programme, which runs from today till Friday and will be conducted under course coordinator Anthony Marciano, will cater to 50 local coaches who will follow and interact with Marcano through the Blue Jeans video conferencing platform.

The programme was approved by the TTOC Education Commission, chaired by TTOC Secretary General Annette Knott. It will be the first ever on-line programme for the TTOC as the organisation accelerates its digital transformation drive due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

“It sets the tone for all our future courses," TTOC project officer, Lauren Legall said, " A course for sports administrators will follow where we will use a combination of in-class instruction and on-line sessions in the post-lockdown period." The CCCP webinar schedule includes nine modules over the five-day period which runs daily from 8-11:45 am.

Today, Marcano will address the TOPIC of the Role of the coach and The coach as a Leader to be followed by the items of Developing Sport Skills with guest presenter Kion Williams dealing with Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) on Tuesday. On Wednesday, coaches will be
exposed to Developing Fitness and Safety, Injury and Recovery Planning.

TTOC executive member Dr Terry Ali will present on Sport not Drugs before Gina Ragbir has an interchange with attendants on Nutrition, Rest and Regeneration, both on Thursday. The course climaxes with the topics of Planning Training Sessions and Sport for Persons with a Disability on Friday.
