Terms and Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions carefully. These terms and conditions govern your entry to the Trinbago Treasure Makers Recycled Plastic Art Competition (the "Competition").
Entrants under the age of 18 must ask their parent/guardian for permission to enter this Competition.
Each entrant's parent/guardian must agree to these terms and conditions.

APPLICATIONS
- The Competition will close for applications at 23:59 on the 20th July 2025 AST (the "Closing Date").
- Open to registered youth organizations and individuals across Trinidad and Tobago.
- All staff members of the TTCGA, Executive members of the TTCGA, and their families, Executive members of the TTOC and their families, are not allowed to participate in any form of this competition.
- Eligibility requirements set out in Section 2 must be met on the Closing Date. The TTCGA reserves the right to verify the eligibility of anyone submitting an application. The TTCGA may require such information (including requesting proof of age for entrants as well as parental or guardians' consent) as it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose and may withhold any prize until the TTCGA is satisfied with the verification.
- To submit an application, you need to complete the entry form via the link (
and no later than the Closing Date. Photo and video files submitted must not exceed 10mb in total size. - Late or illegible entries will be disqualified. The TTCGA cannot take any responsibility for any technical failure or malfunction, including but not limited to any affecting email services, which may result in any entry being lost or not properly registered or recorded.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. ELIGIBILITY
- The Trinbago Treasure Makers Recycled Art Competition ("the Competition") is open to youth organizations within Trinidad and Tobago.
- Participants must be between the ages of 12-21 years old.
- Employees and immediate family members of the Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth Games Association (TTCGA), Commonwealth Sport, and the competition sponsors are not eligible to participate.
- All entries must be submitted with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian.
2. COMPETITION PERIOD
- The Competition closes on July 20th, 2025, at 11:59 PM AST ("Competition Period").
- Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
3. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All artwork must be:
- Original and created by the participant(s) named in the entry form.
- Made primarily from recycled plastic materials (at least 75% of the materials used must be recycled plastic).
- Reflect the values of the Commonwealth Games and/or Trinidad and Tobago's heritage and culture.
- Safe to handle and display (no sharp edges or hazardous materials)
- A height between 50cm to 100cm (0.5M to 1M). Sculptures can be free standing or placed on a base.
- Participants under the age of 18 must be supervised by their guardians at all during the development of their sculpture.
Complete entries must include:
- At least three (3-5) high-quality photographs of the artwork from different angles along with videos.
- A brief description (300-500 words) explaining how the artwork represents Commonwealth values and what it stands for.
- Written consent from parents/guardians.
By submitting an entry, participants confirm that their artwork is entirely their own original creation and does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
4. SUBMISSION PROCESS
- Entries must be submitted electronically via the TTOC’s Website
- Physical artwork submissions may be required only from finalists for final judging and exhibition purposes. Instructions for physical submission will be provided.
- Incomplete or illegible entries may be disqualified at the discretion of the organizers.
5. JUDGING CRITERIA
Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Creativity and originality (20%)
- Sustainability Impact (20%)
- Craftsmanship and Execution (20%)
- Relevance to Commonwealth Values and Trinbago’s Culture and Heritage (20%)
- Communication of Message (20%)
Special category prizes may be awarded for "Best Representation of Commonwealth Values" and "Most Innovative/Creative Use of Materials”.
The decisions of the judges are final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the judging process or results!
6. PRIZES
- Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, as well as to winners of special categories.
- 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners will be automatically entered to the Commonwealth Sport Americas & Caribbean’s regional competition.
- Prizes may include but are not limited to art supply vouchers, hampers and certificates.
- Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable. No cash alternative will be offered.
- Winners will be notified by email or telephone using the contact information provided on the submission form within 3 days of the judging.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
- By entering the Competition, participants and their parent/guardian grant the Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth Games Association (TTCGA) and Commonwealth Sport a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, and display the submitted artwork and accompanying text for promotional, educational, and exhibition purposes.
- The copyright of all submitted artwork remains with the original creator. Participants agree that their name, age, and photograph may be used for publicity purposes without additional compensation.
8. DATA PROTECTION
- Personal information collected as part of the Competition will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Competition and will be handled in accordance with Trinidad and Tobago's data protection laws.
- The TTCGA will only contact parents/guardians regarding upcoming events, offers, and news if the relevant consent box has been ticked on the entry form.
- Personal data will not be shared with third parties except as necessary for the administration of the Competition or as required by law.
9. LIABILITY
- The TTCGA and Commonwealth Sport accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any participant entering the Competition or as a result of accepting any prize.
- The TTCGA and Commonwealth Sport are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network, computer system, server, or provider which may have hindered entry to the Competition.
10. GENERAL
- The TTCGA reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition and these Terms and Conditions without notice in the event of unforeseen circumstances outside their reasonable control.
- The TTCGA reserves the right to disqualify any entry if it has reasonable grounds to believe that the entrant has breached any of these Terms and Conditions.
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Trinidad and Tobago.
- By submitting an entry to the Competition, participants and their parent/guardian are indicating their agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
